You Need to Try These 4 Amazing DIY Hair Masks

Whether you have dry or oily hair, there is an endless supply of products to treat your hairstyle. But regularly buying these products can be expensive, which is why tried, tested, and true do-it-yourself methods are the best.

By using a few simple, all-natural ingredients, you can add shine and nourish your hair, and regular hair oil easily.

Here are a few of my favourite DIY Hair Masks that have amazing results.

1. Extraordinary Egg Hair Mask

It sounds gross, doesn’t it? Trust me—this egg hair mask solution will soften your hair and add a dazzling shine to your hair. Regardless of your hair condition, this mixture will work for all types of hair.

Egg Mask Recipe

Here’s what you need:

  • 1 egg (for especially long or thick hair, use 2 eggs)
  • 1 cup milk (for shoulder-length hair, use 1/4 or 1/2 cup)
  • 1 squeeze of lemon
  • 2 tsps to 2 tbsps of olive oil

For oily hair, use only the egg whites. For dry hair, use the only the egg yolk. For normal hair, use the whole egg. First, beat the egg. Then, add milk and olive oil, and mix well. Once everything is mixed, squeeze the lemon into the mixture. Massage the mixture into your scalp and let it sit for 15 minutes. Now, this mixture can be a little messy, so I recommend you apply it in the shower or bath, and cover your hair with a shower cap. Once the 15 minutes is up, rinse the mixture out with lukewarm or cold water. Finally, shampoo for a final cleanse.

2. Nourishing Banana Hair Mask

If you have dry or regular hair, the DIY banana hair mask will provide you with the nourishing vitamins your hair needs to look and feel fantastic. Plus, the bananas will keep your hair from cramping! (Not really though)

Here’s what you need:

  • 1 to 2 overripe bananas
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey

First, blend the bananas until they’re smooth. Then, blend the honey, coconut and olive oil with your banana mixture. Massage the mixture into your scalp. After 5 minutes, rinse the mixture with warm water and comb your hair. Perform a final rinse to make sure there are no leftover ingredients in your hair. With this DIY hair mask mixture, shampooing is not necessary since the bananas will leave your hair smelling sensational!

3. Revitalizing Avocado Hair Mask

Next time you’re about to have an avocado and toast, maybe you should try this hair mask? For dry, delicate hair, this creamy DIY avocado hair mask will provide a new life and an extra bounce to your hair.

Here’s what you need:

  • 1 small ripe avocado
  • 1 tablespoon olive or almond oil
  • 1/4 cup milk

Start off by blending the avocado until smooth. Then, add milk and your choice of oil to mixture, and mix well. Massage the mixture into your hair, cover with a shower cap, and wait 15 minutes. Once your 15 minutes are up, rinse your hair with warm water.

4. Vanity Planet Remi Moisturizing and Restorative Hair Mask
